Signal Lighting and
Electric Engineering
(ESTOP)
ESTOP is a structural subdivision of the airport
providing lighting engineering as well as
wide range of voltages from centralized
supply of electric power.
ESTOP is subdivided into: industrial center STOP
(provision of lighting engineering for aircrafts) and industrial
center ETOP (provision of electric engineering for flights).
In 1998 the Almaty International Airport
constructed a new signal light system of ABB created for air control
and landing of aircrafts. The system ensures landing, taxiing and
flying for meteorological minimum category II - runway 2320, for
meteorological minimum Category I – runway 520.
Signal Light System for flying, landing and
taxiing of an aircraft as well as the system for provision of
electric power of the airport and its points fully corresponds to
all the requirements and norms of ICAO.
Additional services provided by ESTOP:
- Provision of electric power for indirect
consumers
- Technical consultations
- Laboratory services for electric engineering
- Troubleshooting for
damages in cables
- Measurement of wire and cable resistance
- Testing of insulation of distribution
mechanisms and electric panels
- Testing of safety means and metal assembling
tools
- Testing of transformer stations
- Testing of transformer oil
- Measurement of resistance of earth equipment
Measurement of metal connection between earth equipment and
earthed elements
- Measurement of resistance of loop phase zero
