Almaty International Airport has a hub status – international
transport-distribution node aligned to attract main cargo threads in
Asia – Europe - Asia direction.
In future trends Almaty International Airport can develop all cargo
hub advantages for the whole Central-Asian region market with
population more than 60 ml persons.
In 2007 Freight Service consisting of Almaty International Airport
took out international quality certificate of ISO 9001-2000 that is
corresponded to the quantity management system requirements.

In March 2007 on the SSD territory separate freight depot
construction was completed especially for “FedEx” airline; at
present time cargo of the airline is delivered there. After the
cargo handling all freights are delivered to different points of
Almaty, throughout Kazakhstan, and to countries of CIS by using the
light aircrafts, motor and rail transport.
In connection with transit-transfer freight value increasing, in
2006 the first stage construction of the greatest in the Central
Asia multimodal freight terminal was completed; it will play the key
role in increasing the value of export, import and transit traffic
through the Republic of Kazakhstan territory. It will accordingly
provide additional earnings to the Republic budget and positively
affect the State image.
New freight terminal is the first class depots – “A” class; it has
total area of 2700 m2 which engineering and production
data are corresponded to international requests, safes for the
valuable cargo storing, cold stores with total volume of 240 m3
and thermal behavior from +10C° to -18C°, new branch lines, and
parking places for heavy haulers.
The second stage construction of multimodal terminal has been
already started. It is export-transit depot, postal and mail store,
additional freight depots for extended storage by different custom
behaviors and after the clearance, areas for the large-size and long
goods storing.
All over the freight terminal territory video surveillance computer
system functions, check-points are secured by the aircraft security
members. Export goods for shipping are passed inspection through
X-Ray TV units examining all types of packing.
There are secret warning systems and communication facilities with
special subdivision in case of extraordinary events
Within the frameworks of the Almaty International Airport as hub –
