The Second Terminal at Almaty International
April 17 , 2007
The new
terminal's capacity will be of up to 1.5 thousand people an
hour, it will be equipped with 24 air bridges and will serve
international flights.
The festive ceremony and laying of a memorial
capsule in the foundations of the new terminal building took place
at Almaty International Aiport.
"After commissioning in 2010 the terminal will
serve more than 2 million passengers and in 2015 after expansion it
will double that capacity and then in 2020 the flow will be
increased to 8 million passengers. With the beginning of the
construction we will provide maintenance of both passenger
conveyance and trucking industry",
Mayor of Almaty Imangali Tasmagambetov said at the ceremony opening.
Allen Kuanon, French Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary to RK, and ADPi top managers and project designers
greeted the guests.
Alexander Gordeyev, first Vice President, Almaty
International Airport said:
"The terminal has been designed to international standards according
to passenger-servicing and flight safety. We provide the most
comfortable conditions with a wide range of business-hall choice and
VIP-service."
A well-developed Airport-City infrastructure
complex including hotels, business centres, exhibition pavilions,
conference-halls, shops and movie theatres is to be built in the
precinct of the terminal. |
