Almaty International Airport celebrated Nauryz - a holiday of spring renewal and equinox.

On April 17, 2010, Saturday, Almaty International Airport celebrated Nauryz at Aviator stadium. This holiday is a symbol of spring renewal, triumph of love, fertility, and friendship.

There is a belief that generous celebration of Nauryz will bring abundance and success for the whole year round. These beliefs explain the profusion of festive rituals and customs at the Almaty International Airport holiday. Celebration of Nauryz was accompanied by all-round merriment, concert program, and sport games.

Football, volleyball, chess, tug-of-war, athletics and jump rope tournaments were held on football pitch of Aviator stadium. Teams consisting of employees working in services and related sectors took participation in football tournament.

Football tournament was played between invited teams and airport teams.

The best players in national game tug-of-war became:

In athletics the winners were:

Female sport completion for 60 meters
I place was won by Assem Kurmanbayeva, Operation and Construction-Repair Service
II place was won by Indira Tleuberdiyeva, Passenger Handling Department
III place was won by Dina Nauryzbayeva, Flight Control Service

Male sport completion for 100 meters
I place was won by Ordak Tankibayev, Operation and Construction-Repair Service
II place was won by Rinat Kyzgarayev, Operation and Construction-Repair Service
III place was won by Nurlan Tlenchinov, Aviation Security Service

Expecting Asian Olympic Games, more attention is paid to sport. This tournament dedicated to the Nauryz holiday is a demonstrative example to it. Participants not took any top places were very pleased anyway. Because the main thing in completions is a friendship between collectives, every service rooted for, was distressed for and supported each other.

Services of the airport prepared interesting amateur performance programs that were appraised and awarded. Also prize places for a nomination The Best Yurt were awarded.

II place was won by Accounting Department with prize fund 20 000 tenge
III place was taken by Passenger Handling Department, money reward was 15 000 tenge

Also 10 services of the airport were rewarded with prize money and diplomas: Ticketing Agency; Electrical – Lightning Engineering Flight Operation Service; Operation and Construction-Repair Service; Search and Rescue Service; IT Department; Aviation Security Service together with Security Check Service and Flight Control Service; Cargo Handling Department; Service Department; Office and Management Personnel.

On the concert stage of the stadium services appeared with prepared programs, airport employees performed songs, dances and acted performances. For the best amateur performance the following services were awarded:
I place was taken by Flight Control Service, prize fund was 30 000 tenge
II place was taken by Passenger Handling Department, prize fund was 15 000 tenge
III place was divided between Aviation Security Service and Security Check Service, Service Department, IT Department, prize fund was 10 000 tenge

The holiday was celebrated merrily and loudly, there were more than two thousand people in Aviator stadium. People with all their hearts wish each other a very happy holiday, gave each other cheerful smiles and warm wish.
