Almaty International Airport has served 3 000 000 passengers during the current 2010 and takes the leading place by volume of air transportation in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

For the first time in history of Almaty International Airport 3 million passengers were served in one year.
The record figure is the important stage in activity of the airport. According to the operative data of daily statistics
of a volume of passenger traffic at the airport the 3 000 000th served passenger has been fixed in the first half of
a day between 12:00 and 13:00 of local time on Monday, December 20th, 2010.
While passengers of ' SCAT ' airline’s flight Almaty – Astana registered in the domestic departure hall of the passenger
terminal, the management of JSC 'AIA ' prepared for grand welcome. The lucky person was the passenger of flight SCAT DV 703.
Fortune smiled to 37 years old businessman, the native of city Almaty - Alexey Kulganatov. Alexey due to a specific character
of the work on a regular basis uses air transport between Almaty and Astana. Kulganatov Alexey:
« I did not expect, that something like that would happen. I am very pleasantly surprised that I became the 3 000 000th million passenger.
I have been at many airports of former Soviet Union and abroad, and I think, that this airport is a top-level. I am very glad! Thanks a lot!»
The lucky one was congratulated by the First
Vice-President of JSC ' AIA' Mr Tumyshev Koblandy, and had handed a memorable valuable present - the big modern plasma TV.
The management of JSC ' ÀIA ' is assured such meetings of the anniversary of served passengers will become a good tradition.
It is expected that with the continuation of such a high passenger traffic this record passenger figure can become even more
in the new coming year. For this purpose JSC' AIÀ ' continues to conduct active work on attraction of air carriers, opening
of new regular routes and an increase of the number of flights on already existing directions.
Today at Almaty International Airport the volume of passenger traffic is more than 8000 person per day. Many large international
airlines are the clients of the airport. JSC ‘AIÀ ' has served 2 million passengers In 2006. During four years, having sustained all
of a problem and echoes of a worldwide economic crisis, Almaty airport in 2010 has reached a parameter of 3 000 000 served passengers
in a year, having improved the parameters practically on 50 %. For satisfaction of the passengers demands, huge work has been done by
the Organization of Passenger Transportations Service where more than 350 person work. With a purpose of creation the comfortable
conditions the VIP hall for taking off passengers in Business terminal has been opened; the gallery connecting Business terminal
with the basic terminal was constructed. For passengers convenience the first line of screening has been removed. The division
of arriving and departing passengers in different halls has allowed avoiding confusion and the disorder at realization of
embarking and disembarking of passengers from the bus, following to the distant parking. For uninterrupted delivery of
passengers, new comfortable buses have been obtained in addition to the current fleet. The passengers which are expecting
the flight in a building of the terminal can look telecasts on the installed plasma TVs, to visit shops or simply to spend
time in cozy cafes. In the terminal building the « Mother and the child room » was opened. For a religious part of passengers
there is the «Room for prays». The airport departments constantly work on improvement of service quality, creation of favorable
conditions of passengers stay at the airport. The work of the airport is provided with the personnel in 3100 people.
