Almaty Airport is ‘The Best Partner’
Asiana Airlines has awarded Almaty International Airport the status of
‘The Best Partner of the Year’

In December 2011, Almaty International Airport put into operation the lighting equipment meeting the requirement of the ICAO III B.
Thanks to the new equipment, aircraft can land even in thick fog. And the recent experience when aircraft of FedEx (USA) landed at the airport of
the Southern capital under actual runway horizontal visibility of 150 meters, and vertical visibility of 25 meters, is the best evidence. The
airlines which are partners of the airport marked this innovation too.
‘The basis of our business and success is safety, therefore we took into consideration the fact, that Almaty International Airport is the first in
the CIS to implement the category III B’ – said Vsevolod Kim, Marketing, Sales, and Airport Handling Manager of Asiana Airlines.
‘We think this
event is very significant, and it is important for us that the airport cares about improvement of flight safety level. Therefore, executives of
our company decided to mark this contribution and award it the status of ‘The Best Partner of the Year’ for the contribution to flight safety
development and installation of category III B equipment’.
FYI: Asiana Airlines (Republic of Korea) cooperates with Almaty airport since 1998.
Asiana Airlines operates international passenger flights by 87 routes to 68 cities of 22 countries, and international cargo flights to 23
cities of 13 countries worldwide. In 2009, it was named ‘The Best Airline of the Year’, and in 2010 it was awarded with SKYTRAX 2010 in nomination
‘The Best Airline of the Year’. Also it has the status of five-star service.
